When I first decided to become a secondary education teacher, I thought back to my high school years. They were some of the most difficult. Image is something that is very important to students during this time. This is why I believe that I need to teach my students not only to be effective readers and writers, but also be good people. I feel that students do not have enough people who are teaching this today for them to look up to. I feel that this is something that is just as important as teaching them something such as Romeo and Juliet.
